Route: Delhi → Sehore → Ujjain → Omkareshwar → (Return via Indore/Delhi)

Day 1: Delhi to Sehore


  • Start your journey from Delhi by train (12–14 hours, overnight preferred for comfort) or by road via the Agra–Gwalior–Guna route.


  • If travelling by road, book Tempo Traveller in Delhi for a comfortable journey and flexibility during the trip.


  • Enjoy the changing landscapes as you pass through smaller towns and rural stretches.

 

  • On arrival in Sehore, check in at your dharamshala or hotel.

 

  • Rest and prepare for the next day’s sightseeing.

Day 2: Sehore to Ujjain


  • Leave for Ujjain in the evening and stay overnight in the Dharamshala or hotel.

Day 3: Ujjain Sightseeing & Journey to Omkareshwar


  • Visit Mahakaleshwar Temple in the morning for darshan of Mahakal. Afterwards, go to explore Ujjain sightseeing places such as Sandipani Ashram, Ram Ghat and local bazaars.


  • By noon, begin your journey to Omkareshwar (about 140km, 3.5–4 hours via Indore)—the road is smooth and the drive is scenic.


  • On arrival, relax by the Narmada, take an evening walk, or go for a peaceful boat ride.


Day 4: Omkareshwar Exploration & Indore


  • Early morning darshan at Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga and Mamleshwar Temple.


  • If you missed it on the way, you can do a slight detour via Sehore on your return, depending on time and interest.


  • By evening, head towards Indore (around 75km, 2 hours) for an overnight stay or catch an evening train/flight to Delhi.

 

Day 5: Return to Delhi


  • Train: Indore and Ujjain both offer numerous train options back to Delhi (about 12–15 hours).


  • Flight: If pressed for time, fly out of Indore’s Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport for a quick return to Delhi (around 2 hours flight).
